Laundry Room
A Maytag 2-cyde gas engine washer with
balloon-type wringer-rollers, was purchased in 1936 by Alvina Guhike
with money she saved from boarding a teacher. On top of the washer lid
sits several bars of Fels-Naptha soap. A mangle, old ironing board, gas
iron, wash bucket and agitator add to the room. Hanging from a rack are
ironed petticoats, a pair of pantaloons, and a baby dress of yesteryear.
